Start with registration
Transfer-window coverage concerns registration periods. FIFA's international-transfer guide explains the required documents, deadline procedures and use of its Transfer Matching System. An announcement tells you what a club has communicated; it is not, by itself, a complete account of every administrative step that follows or has already happened.
There is no single world deadline
Registration periods differ between national associations. FIFA's calendar tool separates men's, women's and amateur football and receives dates from member associations. Look up the relevant destination and category rather than borrowing a deadline from another league. A familiar phrase such as 'deadline day' needs that local context.
Our checklist for a report
Identify what is actually confirmed: an agreement, a club announcement, registration or eligibility for a named competition. Then look for the responsible club, association or competition's confirmation of the remaining step. If the report does not establish when the player can appear, say that it remains unconfirmed. Clear status words are more useful than treating every announcement as the same event.
